Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline Impact Family Inc.’s approach to providing letters of support for clients requesting a leave of absence from work. 1. Eligibility for Leave of Absence Letters

Established Counseling Relationship: Impact Family Inc. provides letters for leave requests only to clients with an established counseling relationship, defined as active and consistent participation in sessions over a period of at least three months. This ensures that leave letters are provided only to clients with documented therapeutic needs.

Demonstrated Need for Leave: Leave of absence letters are issued only when there is a clear therapeutic benefit, as assessed by the client’s counselor. This process ensures that leave is recommended in cases where it will support the client’s healing, emotional health, or spiritual growth.

2. Process for Leave of Absence Requests

Written Request: Clients must submit a written request detailing their need for a leave of absence and how it will support their mental, emotional, or spiritual health.

Review and Approval: Requests are reviewed by the client’s counselor, who may consult with other Impact Family Inc. team members if needed. Impact Family Inc. reserves the right to approve or decline requests based on the client’s specific circumstances and therapeutic progress.

Decision Notification: Clients will receive a response within ten business days of submitting their request.

3. Content and Scope of Leave of Absence Letters

Therapeutic and Faith-Based Focus: Leave of absence letters will emphasize the importance of rest, renewal, and spiritual support, as guided by our Christian counseling approach. Letters will reflect the therapeutic benefit of a temporary leave within the context of the client’s overall well-being.

Limitations: The letter will not include specific medical or diagnostic information. It will confirm that the client is under Impact Family Inc.’s care and would benefit from a leave for therapeutic and spiritual reasons.

Integrity and Ethical Alignment: Letters will include faith-based language reflecting our commitment to holistic well-being, avoiding any implication that could misrepresent the nature of the client’s need.

4. Ongoing Counseling Support During Leave

Continued Counseling Sessions: Clients are encouraged to maintain their counseling sessions with Impact Family Inc. during their leave, allowing for consistent support, growth, and healing.

Return-to-Work Planning: When applicable, Impact Family Inc. counselors will help clients develop a plan for re-entering their work environment with resilience, offering strategies for stress management and continued well-being in alignment with their faith journey.

5. Transparency and Confidentiality

Transparency of Process: Impact Family Inc. provides clients with clear information about this policy at the time of inquiry to set accurate expectations regarding the eligibility, process, and scope of leave support letters.

Confidentiality: All client information, including details related to leave requests, is managed according to Impact Family Inc.’s confidentiality policies and HIPAA standards, respecting the privacy of each client.
